They had a few shows on last night. I started to watch one episode where the woman was buying hundreds of yogurts because they were free with her coupon and then she got catalinas towards her next purchase. I missed parts of it and was curious about a couple of things. Does anyone know: 1- since this is a perishable product, was she planning on od'ing on yogurt for a week? 2- why did she take the yogurt out of the boxes where they could be stacked so nicely and had them precariously stacked in her cart? Is this a store policy? I've bought cases of items before and our stores allow us to take the whole unopened case to the cash, or at the very least they let us take the cartons so as to make it easier to transport and saves them from giving us bags.
I laughed when 1 woman bought 120 boxes of cous cous...something she'd never made before. What if everyone in her family hates it?

I talked to Ken, a couponer last Saturday. He has seen this show and he thinks it's silly that people buy the quantities that they do, just because they have a coupon. He also let me know that the stores in our area have a four of the same coupon limit, so there won't be any extreme couponing going on here.

Jean, I watched the show, and as I understood, the lady promised to donate thousands of dollars in groceries to charity because she knew how it felt to not have money to feed her family after she divorced her first husband. I thought it was very nice of her. But she still has a mini-supermarket in her house.

thanks Wallflour. We can't coupon like that here in Canada, most people I know here are in awe over these people. I "stockpile" about a years worth of some items (i.e. shampoo, tp, shaving cream, toothpaste, etc. and canned goods) when they hit a good sale, but it's nothing compared to these folks!

The only coupons I use are those for paper and laundry products at Costco.
I can never seem to find the ones I want at Publix - the ones for chicken, eggs & broccoli
