Didn't get to see it but recorded it to watch later. What did we do before DVR?

Loved it! Again, great writing all-around.
Once you get around to watching it, I will be interested in what you think of Shirley MacLaine.

I actually didn't love Shirley...for me it was almost like she was trying too hard.
Like Nance, the 3rd season premier was better than I expected. And I'm glad that almost every scene I saw in the promos actually is out of the first episode. I now feel (pleasingly) blind about what's to come.

I thought the 3rd season was the best. The characters are better developed. I was disappointed in Shirley MacClaine's character though. It was written rather broadly when the others are so nuanced. I am jealous you all get to watch it now and I have to wait again. On the right side (and my showing my viewer alter ego) Girls starts again next week.

I, too, was a little disappointed with Shirley. I was expecting more spice. And who dreamed up her costumes?

It's on again tonight in the NYC viewing area on PBS 21, for those who missed and didn't DVR last night.

Do not read the NYT Arts section today if you do not want spoiler alerts for the season finale.
I've already seen it, so I went ahead and read it...
