Josh,
We've made your house dal recipe twice now (the first was a little too hot for me...I stupidly had Andy measure spices, and he put in quite a bit of cayenne, because he loves it). We made it again today for a potluck we're going to this afternoon, along with some Tandoori chicken and garlic Naan.
Your dal recipe has received a hearty thumb's up from this household.

Thanks! I'm happy to show people that it's easy to make good dal. Something which Indian women cook over an open hearth shouldn't be complicated or inaccessible.
Expect more Indian now that I have my Preethi.
