Ahhh .. some cross over talking. We were also talking about thermoworks IR device, which is what I thought you were referring to. No, an actual thermopen would be awful for grill temps But is great for oil if you don't mind swirling it around a little in there, and burning your self when you wipe off .... (well that part might be optional, I just seem to manage it with striking regularity)
