Yes, he has a nice cellar with a cooler and all that jazz. We have also sadly tossed more than a few bottles that were just plain nasty. Tonight was a real treat though.

That seems pretty extreme, except that I regularly (well, ocassionally) buy fish which costs that much. Wild Alaskan salmon, line-caught halibut, petrale sole, etc. of high quality are often $20 to $25 per pound.

I guess the difference is that one doesn't usually buy more than 6oz of fish per guest.

Fuzzy, at the risk of one upsmanship, my son is a fanatic fisherman. Our fish costs $200 to $300/lb. :lol: :lol:
