Hey all. Long time, no chat! Hope all is well on this lovely messsage board full of lovely people! Hopefully now that my busy season has passed, I'll be in touch more. Hope you're all well.

So, I've got all of this kohlrabi and daikon radish from the CSA farm which we joined this year and don't have a clue what to do with it. Any suggestions???

Welcome back!

Kohlrabi is one of my favorite veggies, since it grows so quickly and stores so well, in addition to tasting so good. It is great in many stir-fries, sliced thin or julienned, as a crispy addition to many dishes. It is also good on its own, and a non-traditional use I have found for it is to shred or julienne it, and make the Thai salad Som Tum, which is usually made with green papaya. I am going to make this tomorrow, to use up a bunch of the end-of-season cherry tomatoes and long beans.
