I thought I had read every cooking tip known to man, but this one was new to me (ignore the fact the video is in Japanese, it's obvious just watching it). Haven't tried it though, it just looks so cool: 'http://newyork.grubstreet.com/2012/08/see-an-amazing-video-trick-for-separating-eggs.html |

That is very cool. I don't have much call to separate eggs since I don't bake, but that is still cool. |

Loved the poster that commented: "You know Rachel Ray or one of those FoodTV celebrity "chefs" will start selling a device that does this for $25 in a matter of weeks." |

That is way cool. I love meringue in any form so I have been separating eggs since I was a little girl and seldom have problems, but this is super easy. |

This seems very time-consuming. I would think it would be quicker to use the old technique of pouring said egg between the 2 shell halves; you don't get two more things dirty that need to be cleaned, the bottle and the plate. Cleaning the bottle requires extra time as the DW won't necessarily do it well. It is clever, however ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wino, Actually, I find the very best tool for separating eggs is my fingers. However, if the eggs are straight from the fridge, I can only do about 3 before my hands get uncomfortably cold. |
