I made 2 discoveries this week that have me bouncing up and down in my chair. First I went to my favorite but slightly out of the way grocery store and bought something called "Black Mustard" It is mustard mixed with balsamic crema. Holy crap, seriously good stuff. The photo on the bottle shows it on a steak so I had it on roast beef. It is made by some Italian company and seriously has me thinking hard as to what else I could do with this stuff. It reminds me a bit of a steak sauce although it tastes mostly of balsamic and mustard. And then today I have spent way too much time looking through Leite's Culinaria at http://leitesculinaria.com/. Did you guys know about this and not tell me??? The recipes look fantastic and the writing is very good too. Mary |

Quote: "Black Mustard" It is mustard mixed with balsamic crema. This sounds like something I could fall in love with. |

The English is a bit odd (who needs to actually hire a translator when there is google???) but here is my new discovery: http://mazzettioriginale.it/a/2209/black-mustard.aspx. Mary |

If I was to meddle with the ingredients, what would you say? Dijon mustard? Dry mustard? Anything else? |

I would go for Dijon. I think there is also malt vinegar in there and "flavorings". BTW my daughter solved the problem of what to put it on. She was squirting it on her finger and licking it off. Mary |

I would gladly mail one of you some to distribute but I don't know if it is worth the postage 'cause at the end of the day it is mustard. Perhaps I will stick some in my suitcase next time I come over. Mary |

Mary Maybe if you could list the ingredients (if they are on the bottle), we could try to recreate it....seems better than shipping bottles or even bringing them. Perhaps we might be able to order it online if you can tell us the brand name...just wondering if some importer has already made it available here. ilene |
