I overheard someone talking about this yesterday, so I googled around and found some recipes and ideas, it seems that Grilled Watermelon with a Lime Honey Glaze is a trendy thing this summer.

Has anyone tried this? Any other flavor combinations or methods to use making grilled watermelon?

EB,

I can't imagine why someone would want to ruin a good watermelon. Or is this something you do with crappy watermelons?

I dunno, maybe as a side to iguana helper? I just thought I'd give it a shout to see what came out of it.

EB - I like grilled fruits in general, so who's to say it wouldn't be good? But I wonder how it would stay together - I can't seem to keep slices whole without grilling. I have never heard of it before, so don't have anything helpful to say, but let us know if you try it!

Maybe if you grilled it then threw it into liquid nitrogen.

Just sayin'.

Oddly enough, went out to dinner tonight and grilled watermelon salad was on the menu. I didn't order it cause I wanted the duck fat fries!

You couldn't have both? I would think the virtuousness of the watermelon would off set the fries.

A restaurant here, Yerba Buena, serves watermelon fries with a chipotle, yuzu and sherry vinegar infused ketchup. Might have to try that!

Or the other way around. "Firecracker watermelon".

No fun cleaning the grill afterwards, though.

But I wanted the scallops and risotto. Had I read this thread I would have sacrificed for the sake of research
