I volunteered to make desserts for our Company Christmas party this year, In addition to C.I. Bread pudding I was looking to make a fun dessert for the "little" kids, there will probably be about 15 of the little drape apes.

Anyone have any fun ideas…all I could think of was a worm dirt cake.

What ages are the kids? I think the best, easiest idea would be cookies or cupcakes. Depending on their ages and your time-line, maybe they could decorate them. From my experience, most kids like cookies, but after that I don't think you'd find much they will all like.

I would also say cookies. Shaped sugar cookies with colored icing. I have also had good luck with fruit on skewers in flower pots like bouquets. Cupcakes are OK but you end up with a bunch of half eaten ones. Make your own sundaes are good too with gummy worms and smarties and what not. Probably gummy worms are a good idea, no matter what.

I've done the worm-cake idea in small individual flower pots.

I'd say cookies. Cupcakes tend to be too messy.

Aha moment! You can make the chocolate pudding/oreo cookie/gummy worm idea in ice cream cones!

Having just come from a 2 year old's birthday party, I'd nix the cup cakes too, too big for little ones to eat a whole one, too difficult for them to peel, and too tempting to give up and dunk fingers into the icing before touching everything else.

Decorated cookies is probably a better bet.

I'm not sure I should say this, but you could just chuck a bag of sugar on a kiddie table and give my kid a spoon; he'd say "Thanks!" (He's had SOME upbringing) and be happy as a clam.

 I'd also go with cookies. Cutout gingerbread, sugar and/or chocolate with few candies and frosting. Vs. chocolate chip and a non-chocolate one for those who don't like chocolate (I can't believe I'm saying this!)
