I can't believe I'm asking this, but does anyone have a good recipe for jalapeño poppers? Andy asks for them every Sunday during football season, and I thought I'd finally acquiesce and make them for Super Bowl Sunday.

The things we do for love.
I've not made these, but had them at a party and they were good. I like that they are not fried.

From Wiki - it gives you a wider frame of reference than just one recipe.

I use an Emeril recipe that we love. Baked, not fried. I'll find it for you.
Nance

Here it is. I've made some of my own adjustments but this is a good start. I usually make 18 at a time (36 total) using a whole block of cream cheese and 1 package of shredded mexican style cheese.

Thanks everyone.

I just noticed this recipe I got in a Saveur email yesterday. It's fried, but I'm not completely against that as it's the Super Bowl. It doesn't use cream cheese, which I thought was classic. Isn't it?

It's a fat and calorie bomb. Thoughts?

Enjoy them once a year and don't worry about it.

OTOH, Poppers could be a gateway drug that leads to experimenting with Velveeta Queso.

I believe that is pretty much the point.

I realize these are fat bombs, I was just wondering about people's thoughts on no cream cheese.

Ooh,

Queso fundido! There's a thought...haven't had it in years.

Ay
