My family nixed my Strawberry Cream Cake for Easter brunch idea and has voted on cheesecake. Just a regular cheesecake, they say. Nothing funny, no pineapple. So, has anyone tried CIs New York Cheesecake? Mary |

I think Ina's is the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. Recipe is on Food Network. I makes a pretty large cake and is absolutely delicious. Raspberries or strawberries are great toppings fitzie |

This one's excellent - nice and creamy. I added an extra Tbsp or so of sugar to the batter, and used my own graham cracker crust: PHILADELPHIA CLASSIC CHEESECAKE http://www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/phi ... 52544.aspx (I used to make Gourmet's NY Cheesecake, but it baked inconsistently - First time it was okay, but subsequent times, it was severely underbaked in the center, no matter how long I kept baking it and baking it and baking it. I finally gave up on that one. I've never had that problem with any other cheesecakes or cakes). |

I tried a new recipe (for me) at Christmas time and LOVED it. It is Junior's Cheesecake from New York City. It has a sponge cake for the crust and has heavy cream in the batter. I loved it......Here is a link.. http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?secti ... id=6506236 Good Hunting, Karen |

I made CI's recipe an age and a half ago. It was very good, but it was cheesecake. Cheesecake is always good. |

Thanks everyone! I think I will go with Ina's as it got the most votes. I would love to do the citrus one but was threatened to "just make something normal". And JesBelle is right about cheesecake, hard to get a bad one. One question, I can only get the cream cheese in a tub and not a block. I have always just subbed by weight without any problem but wondered how you all think it plays into a recipe. Mary |
