Post subject: | Limoncello Recipes |
I am hosting a Limconcello bottling party (we had the peeling party last Sunday) as part of my gourmet dinner club evening. I want to serve,as much as possible, every course using Limoncello. I am having trouble finding main course dishes. Everything I can find is chicken based. Any of you know of any main course recipes other than chicken using Limoncello?. One other issue is that we have decided to serve the dinner as a buffet and not have formal seating. There is plenty of seating, but without a table, folks will have plates on their laps, so cutting into anything will be cumbersome. Thanks for any suggestions |

I love Limoncello. It does bring some sweetness, but you could use it instead of lime to bring some acidity to Cuban mojo (eg. the olive oil sauce used in Cuban Work, yucca and other dishes). My favorite Limoncello dish is Ina's Fruit Salad with Limoncello and Greek Yogurt. Could you use it in a Sweet and Sour type sauce or create a Lemon beef ala Orange beef? Off to Redding for DH's hyperbaric treatment for his retinal occlusion, but I'll look more closely later. |

Thanks Alina. I have plenty of time to experiment, so any ideas will be appreciated. I am good with everything but the main course |

A dish of pork and citrus would be nice, braised cubes eatable with forks. |

I was thinking that a riff on penne a la vodka might be good. In my head I see, crème fraîche, tarragon, limoncello, maybe toasted almonds or pine nuts and maybe some capers for contrast with crumbled pancetta or prosciutto. Any small fork grabbable pasta would work though I pictured Conchiglie. |

I love the idea of a theme dinner, wish my local friends would be into that too. |
