I want to try stuffing in the crockpot, but I don't want to ruin T-Giving. Anyone done this yet? Clue me in, please.

Yes!!! Always!!! It stays moist and delish., just like the stuffing in the bird that everyone fights over. I have a very large stuffing contingent at my house. I use ATK's recipe.

Good to know! I have always used my own recipe since we are cornbread stuffing people. I wonder if I should test run before the big day? Do you reduce the liquid?

If you aren't comfortable with the idea, go ahead and try it. We eat stuffing throughout the year, so I'm used to it. I don't put in extra liquid per se, but I do put a little broth in the bottom of the crock, because I start it on high and then reduce. Also, I have a Ham Beach, so it doesn't get beastly hot, anyway.

Yes, I've done it a lot. Not so much because it's super yummier, but it just works better to get some tasking away from the oven.

I use the normal recipe on the crouton box or bag (I use Pepperidge Farm or other stuff and supplement with homedone croutons). You can let it go a long time on low (five hours plus)....it all depends on your crockpot. I usually turn it up to high as dinner is nearing. It will crisp up, but again this is all contingent on your crockpot.

I like the tip on the other board about the towel to catch the drips.

Can you try it before Thanksgiving? Maybe just freeze some in ziplocks? You need to get the feel for your crockpot and personal preferences (our family is not in agreement on moisture level).
