Emilie, It was the only part of British school lunches I have fond memories of. Hot chocolate or vanilla custard over chocolate or vanilla cake, served in a bowl (chocolate was best). Made me actually eat the rest of the (rather horrifying) lunch so I could have some. The custard is thinner when hot than the cold stuff sets up to, and turns it all into a saucy pudding. |
