They were delicious. Sort of a heavy cake with all that almond ground up in them. And I think I did beat them to death. The two tasted about the same, the one in the light pan seemed moister.

Just finished off the last piece this morning after breakfast. It was good and maybe even better (yes you said so Amy!!). Next time I could easily make them two days in advance of a party.

I'd really like to find another recipe for French Almond Cake that might be more descriptive - there are a bunch of them out there so I can start researching. In the meantime the next project is the Orange Olive Oil cake, maybe next week.

Those little oval dip?? dishes in the background of the pic. I call those little finger handles "ears".

I have some of those, too. Great for individual gratins, etc. Use them all the time. Nice for baked eggs with ham, parmesan & cream.

OH, ok. They are actually round, Pillavuyt from France. I think she may have actually bought them in France (my mom). Yes, Trinket, I just got these on a recent visit. :o You might have even given them to her?? Who knows.

That is the Costco Artichoke and Jalapeno dip. To one I added extra jalapeno, to the other roasted red pepper. Heated in the oven and served it with Ina Garten's crostini. Those dishes were absolutely licked clean by the end of the night.
