I need a recipe for pazcki. All of the recipes I see online are either weird (Bobby Flay's uses dried milk.), written by folks who are only more or less fluent in English (Squashing water and yeast together and adding flower actually made sense but the recipe lost me after that.), or written by pros for whom recipes are just a sketchy outline that is filled in with their own vast experience. I can practically spit on Hamtramck from here, but I invariably have to work on Fat Tuesday and I can't talk Geekboy into braving the lines for me. |

Oops, my bad. They're Polish. A Quintet of Cuisines from the TimeLife Foods of the World series has a recipe, but only in the spiral-bound supplement, which I haven't run across yet. The hardcover does helpfully mention how delicious they are, though. TIA |

Ilene, Thanks. Poland didn't rate it's own book in that series. It got lumped in with Switzerland, Bulgaria, and North Africa in A Quintet of Cuisines. I am immensely grateful that you are looking for it. Kati <-- actually my name ; ) |

Ilene, It is a slippery one. I used to go to library sales 2-3 times per month and never found it. I may just have to break down and get it from Amazon. Thanks for trying, anyway. Kt |

Thanks, I did come across that one as I was searching and I thought it looked the most promising. I guess I just like to comparison shop before diving into unknown recipes. This is definitely the one I'll try if I can't find any others. The ones that use rose jam seem the most intriguing. I've been considering ripping out some of the concord grapes the previous owners left and putting in culinary roses. Rose jam seems like just one more reason to go ahead with that plan. |
