I posted this question on Facebook culinary, but asking here as well. Is there a way to make Oreo crust without making cookies first. Dough is frozen now. It seems a PITA to portion out cookies to bake them, to then crush them for the crust. Any suggestions very much appreciated. |

Is there something 'wrong' with buying a BIG bag of Oreos, splitting them, removing the icing, and crushing... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

You might even be able to buy Oreo crumbs at the store. |

Nabisco Famous Chocolate Wafers are basically Oreos without the filling. |

Thanks to all. I have faux oreo dough in the freezer (two different ones). The cookies were really good (no filling left) and my son wants me to use one of those for the crust. Hence my question. I am an original Oreo fan, expecially the filling and would have no problem buying some, but the issue is that I want to use my homemade dough. I've decided to just slice the dough and bake then crush. The Marie Callender Satin Pie copycat recipe I'll be using just uses the cookie, not the filling, for the crust. Thanks again, I'll post how it turns out in a few weeks. |

Alina, Is this a baked crust, or a no-bake crust? If you're baking it, you use only the wafers. If you're chilling it, you use the filling. CORRECTION: my sweetie tells me that you can actually bake an oreos-with-filling crust. |

Thanks Josh, the crust is baked for 10 minutes, cooled, filled, then refrigerated here. I'll be using this recipe as written (am considering using some bittersweet chips, need to check with DS first). |
