I do grow my own, but even with fresh young thyme, I've never had problems holding the stem and stripping the leaves all at one with my thumb and forefinger. The tiny stems that may come through I use along with the leaves. Maybe it's different with store bought or limp thyme. |

I got this suggestion years ago, except the hole it suggested running the stems through was a colander, which works very well, assuming the hole isn't too large or small. |

Tried it. I works, but the thyme can't branch at all and the hole needs to be just the right size. So, it doesn't really save time. It might be more thorough, though, so I guess it saves thyme. Had to do it. |
