The story from The Guardian demonstrates the redemptive power of baking and provides a wonderful example for anyone seeking to begin a new career: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2017/jun/18/how-baking-helped-save-my-life The story from The San Francisco Chronicle celebrates the life of Flo Braker and details how she became a famous baker. In a way it illustrates some of the elements from the first article. http://www.sfchronicle.com/food/article/Bay-Area-baking-legend-Flo-Braker-dies-at-78-11226357.php Now, I think it's time to bake some rolls for supper ![]() |

If you've never tried them, http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/PrintRecipe?RID=6869&radio=1 are fantastic...I used to make them all the time and they were always the favorites of ours and our friends. |

Thanks for posting that link about Flo Braker, Bill. I hadn't seen that she died -- very sad. I was just skimming through one of her cookbooks last weekend. Emilie |
