hmmmm, odd. These are available here, the large one (which I got in the fall) is the same size as the one I got in 2003 or thereabouts that had a cracked bowl.

Ivy,

There we go! Now, if only I could find shelf space for it ...

Alina, the Zyliss is working well for you? I'll go get one of those.

Josh, the Zyliss is the pull type as opposed to push like the OXO. So I set it on the counter, hold it with one hand and pull with the other. I think it spins faster and longer with one pull, but I've not really tested them side by side. I'll try to remember the next time I have them out. I have on a couple of occassions when lazy and it was out, used the inner bowl as a colander for pasta and it survived it without damage. Still looks like new and I bought early 2006. I just took this picture, the tile is 12" X 12". The Zyliss measures 10.25" diameter by 5.33" outer bowl, inner bowl is 9.75" by 4.66". The baby OXO is 7.75" by 4.75" outer and inner is 7.25" and 4". BTW, related to that, a while back I bought a lettuce keeper from the Food Saver site and found when I remember to use it, that it does keep lettuce fresher for longer periods. It occupies more space than a gallon Ziploc, so we put it away for a while and forgot to bring it back out.

Alina,

Hmmm. The current Zyliss is actually pump action. So it's different from the model you have. I'll have to go to a kitchen store and try it out.

Actually both are available on Amazon, the newer model is more expensive. There seem to be a few problems with it, and CI did not like it. I wonder if a place like Tuesday Morning, TJ Maxx or Ross would have an old large OXO?

Just for kicks, you might try Freecycle.org. Make a Wanted post for the spinner. Maybe somebody out there doesn't want one anymore and would be willing to give it to you.
