Those look identical to the jelly jars I have, and the small lids and rings fit perfectly. Maybe yours are older?

Go straight to the source -- Ball's website

Also, try the local supermarkets and hardware stores this summer. They usually have lots of canning supplies then.

Oh and Ball and Kerr only make two sizes of lids -- regular and widemouth. Perhaps there was some confusion?

I was thinking this, too, since the wide-mouth lids would be the only ones "much too big".

Regular mason jar lids don't work - they are much too big. I have no problem finding regular lids. Neither CanningSupply.com or KitchenKrafts.com (thanks, Ilene) nor Amazon nor Ace Hardware carry jelly jar lids.

These are the lids I am looking for (without buying more jars).

Thanks, all.

The jars you linked have 2 1/2" lids according to the site and they do carry those without the jars. Mine are much closer to the large ones, but about 1/8" to 1/4" smaller.

Have you actually taken one of your jars to the local Ace and tried on the small mouth lids?

I must be doing something wrong here, but the small jelly jars I have have a ring that is about 1/2" smaller than my regular jar rings. I don't use widemouth jars, only the regular jars. I'll try to get a photo tonight.

I'll check the Ball website though. Thanks.

I hope I am not losing my mind. :)
