OK, not sure why the url didn't show up as a link. I used the URL tool up top.... Advice?
Your URL is a clickable link - the highlighting that shows it's clickable is either subtle or nonexistent depending on your eyesight.

The links look slightly gray to me, and I do have poor eyesight.

Sounds like alot of options on the mandoline. I'll probably start with one of the less expensive ones and move up to the Bron if I find I use it enough for the bigger investment. Since I hatehatehate to clean my FP, I'd probably love a mandoline for slicing. I will invest in a glove. I think I'll use the $$$ Santa left for me and pick one up soon.

trink.

Ah ha, Pete. Yes, with close scrutiny, I can see that the link is just ever so slightly bolded in contrast to the rest of the text. My sight is pretty good but this is extremely subtle. I wonder if the lack of contrast is due to Firefox settings as I just began to use that instead of IE. I guess I was looking for it to come up in a different color or underscored, obviously set off.

Thanks for setting me straight. Glad to know I actually did it :)

Good luck with the new mandoline, Trink. Let us know how it goes.

I love my Bron even tough I don't use it that much. I tried an inexpensive v-slicer prior to getting the Bron. All it took was my slicing a bit (very tiny) of my pinkie while attempting to slice a potatoe without using the guide.

BTW. I now use a slicing glove even with the Bron & it's very safe guide.

Word to the wise is take care, these are very shape & once you get into slicing, it becomes a fast and forceful process.

When I graduated from the CIA, my mom asked me what I wanted. When I said " a mandoline", she replied "but you don't even play."
(Sorry if you've heard this one before)
