I have a thermoworks unit that goes over 1000F. It is not their deluxe model , but has the laser pointer, can switch between F/C. The best part is it is on sale right now for $49 or so. Model is IRGUN-S and is found on this page with their other IR Therms: http://www.thermoworks.com/products/ir/
