Happy Memorial Day! Any updates on summery uses of the Vitamix? Ilene - how are you liking it - what were your first things and what were your ah ha moments.....if I may ask. |

EB...I just got it and haven't used it yet. It is out of the box and washed and ready, but this being a holiday weekend, I am eating out, so nothing yet. The demo lady at Costco made me a great fruit drink, then peeled an organge and put it in with some carrot, cabbage, a little 1/2 and 1/2 and a drop of vanilla. She then added ice and cranked it and I had a lovely sorbet (tasted really like desert but was full of veggies). Since a lot of my cooking is "for one", I'm looking forward to being able to throw in some veggies and a little stock and have a nice bowl of soup or sauce whenever.... It came with a great cookbook, which I just scanned, but the soups and sauces looked wonderful. ilene |

Ilene, I'd hold onto your ice cream maker. I've tried ice cream in the VitaMix, and frankly didn't like the results. Some machines are just not terrific at "off label" uses. Amy |
