In general, masticating juicers are a lot more expensive than centrifugal juicers. Interestingly, CI reviewed a masticating juicer (Omega VRT350 Low Speed Juicer) and recommended the the Breville over it. Apparently the Omega was difficult to clean and to put together. From what I have read Breville makes the best juicers.

I have the Breville citrus juicer and love it. WS has the Hurom juicer for all fruits and veggies. Looks really good. I was drooling over the vitamix at WS...Costco had it a week or so ago, but I'm not sure that it is the version that I would like.

I really admire the Breville citrus juicer. I need to look at the CI evaluation. What I just read is that the Champion Juicer, a masticating juicer, is one very strong puppy! I was looking at what it took to roast and grind cacao beans at home. Roasting is not so much a problem if you have a decent gas BBQ setup with a rotisserie. Grinding is a lot tougher and the Chocolate Alchemist specifically mentioned the Champion Juicer as the one item that can handle the job. Not the Vitamix, not the meat grinders, just the Champion Juicer. Hmmm. They go for not too much on Craigslist. I'll have to keep my eye on that down the road. My wife loves juicing and the Champion is fairly easy to take apart and clean up. A worthwhile attribute if true.

We just ordered an Omega something or other which should be here this week. I'll let you know how it goes. Reading the post above I hope it isn't to hard to clean.
