Just got this last month to sharpen my serrated blades (primarily the Victorinox 11" bread knife) and was stunned to find that it actually worked. It is beyond simple. It also does knives.

I have the Chef's Choice and the steels and the ceramics but this is so simple, quick and convenient that I had to share. At the huge 'investment' of $7 more I ordered the sharpener for scissors and am equally pleased. :D

We have one of those. Never knew it worked on a serrated knife...

wino, do you have them ship to Canada? are duty costs within reason? I'm always leery of ordering to here and ship mainly to my brother or Chris' office in Chicago but then am forced to wait.

Pete - CI recently noted that it was the first sharpener that they found that actually worked. They use there's so much that they recently bought the replacement blades kit and LOVED it as well!

JeanF - Until recently I was in the good ol' USA every 3 months so I would ship 'stuff' to my sister and pick them up. However, I will be shipping in the future as we won't be needing to visit there so often anymore. I haven't found the duty issue to be very onerous but it has been awhile... I can't imagine it got better. Donch love 'free trade'???

thanks Wino
I go to buffalo every few months but have no "free" place to ship there. Brother comes up here 3 times a year and Chris basically lives in the US so it's just a matter of getting the package shipped to the right place. Sometimes though I want something NOW. Like that accusharp!

There is a very small hardware store in a extremely small town just across the border in North Dakota that holds 'stuff' for Canucks and charges $3-$5 to do so. We ship cases of wine, chainsaws, books, etc. from American sources - it really doesn't matter what it is and he holds them. You might try asking around at coffee shops, hardware stores, etc. to see if a similar underground market exists. We tell US customs where we are going, pick it up, and drive back to declare it with Canadian Customs. It is very slick except for the 100 mile drive to the border. However, if we plan it properly, it works very well.

Heeeeyyy, I had one of those. It's either crammed in a drawer, or maybe I gave it to Rod. Hmmmmm.

UPS stores will do this for $5. I am a frequent visitor to the one in Ogdensburg, NY (a wee 93 km/57 mi from my house), which is packed to the gills with boxes for Canadians :)

Just ordered one for my son-in-law. They put knives in the dishwasher. He really needs it!

thanks Wino and Paul. I did find a place in Niagara but their hours leave a lot to be desired (closed at 5 on fridays and 1 on saturday, not open on sunday). Have also shipped to hotels but that all depends on timing. Hadn't thought about UPS though. thanks gentlemen.
