Today I found an All Clad 10" nonstick skillet for 2 dollars at a thrift shop!!

It's not in pristine condition on the nonstick cooking surface, but it's not much worse than my 12" that I've had forever. The outside shiny ss side is in pretty rough shape, lots of brown baked on stuff. It's going to get a barkeeper's friend scrub down tonight.

Also got some adorable tiny tiny ice cube trays, which I plan on freezing pesto in, or other leftover glazings, etc. 1$ for four

And lastly a George F. grill, the small one, in really good shape for $2. I have one small one, it barely works for two people but I love it. I have a giggle every time I set it up on the big Dacor vanity range. On a cookie sheet under the Ventahood. I get eye rolls from the husband on that. :?

All that stuff for less than a soy latte!!

Good score....isn't it fun when you find something you can actually use!

EB,

The thrift stores here are too picked over to find anything good. Where you get good stuff is the estate sales.

So far:

Ginormous 2-hand potato masher, suitable for making 2 gallons of mashed potatoes at a time.
6" Spanish copper frying pan
Instant-read thermometer
4qt 3-ply Revereware soup pot (they don't make this size/type anymore)
Set of pressed tin madelaine pans
4-gallon restaurant-weight aluminum stock/soup pot.

"You can't take it with you, so why not call an Estate Agent now?"

Estate sales aren't popular up here, but yard/garage sales are. Love to troll those to find stuff.
Got 10 years worth of gourmet and bon appetit once.
Lots of small mise/prep type bowls.
raclette grill for $10
Turned away from an aerogarden (new in box) last year for $10 since I just knew I wouldn't use it.

Just found this board from a post on the soon to be closed CI board.

I have found many useful items recently:

8" All Clad stainless steel frying pan (like new): $3
Bosch Universal Mixer Plus (in box; the 'plus' includes blender): $15
7 cup KA food processor (new in box): $40
4.5 qt Le Creuset Dutch Oven: $10
4.5 qt Le Creuset Dutch Oven: $9
Tiffany crystal decanter (model: Plaid that retails for $165): $15
Several all clad tongs: 99 cents (didn't need but couldn't pass up All Clad)
5.5" Emile Henry pie plate: $3
7" by 5" Le Creuset enamel baker: $4

Have been meaning to put the Bosch and decanter up on ebay. One of these days...want them to gone by Christmas...d I don't bake bread to justify keeping the Bosch but I do love the design of it.

I've passed up a few items that I couldn't justify taking up the space:
Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker (new in box): $6 then saw an extra bowl for $7 after I passed that up so of course wish I got the machine.
Zojurishi bread machine: $14 (again, wish I got it if only for pizza dough)

Fran,

That's quite the haul! You must live at the intersection of Commerce City and Beverly Hills! Let us know when you're having a yard sale. ;)

And welcome to the board!

Amy
