I currently have a KA range (30" slide-in) that came with the house. I'm wanting to upgrade and would really like to have a steam convection oven. In my research so far, the only brand I've found that has this type of range is KA. Does anyone know of any others? I can accommodate a 36", but not necessarily interested in making the switch to a wider range.

I think what you really want is a combi-oven .... read the section in modernist cuisine

Paul,
That is exactly what I want. I use them all the time at the restaurant, however, you won't find that home ranges use that term, hence why I'm using the phrase I did. Know of any others beyond the KA?

Unfortunately, for a range, I don't know any. They all seem to be separate ovens. When I looked at the KA, it have very very little control over humidity level, though they may have bumped up the functionality since I last looked. A portable like the electrolux might get you by, though clearly for only small things and at the expense of space.

Makes me wonder if one couldn't 'build' a range by combining something like this with a cooktop in some cabinetry.

That's an awesome idea Paul. I think I'll look into it.

They are very common here. Check out Bosch and Electrolux.
