I've now experienced my third KitchenAid death in the last year. My food processor just died. The plastic at the base where the blade sits just disintegrated. I need a new food processor. I'd love a Robot Coupe, but don't think I can find one in my price range. Suggestions? Amy P.S. I am now kicking myself for selling my 20 year old Cuisinart at the yard sale we held prior to moving to Colorado. |

Why not get a new Cuisinart? You could even get someone at Etsy to paint Peter Weller's face on the bowl and still come out at less than half the price of a real Robo Cop... uhm... Robot Coupe. |

I agree with Jes..my Cuisinart is 30 years old and still cranking....only had to replace to bowl 10 years ago. If it crapped out, I would get a new Cuisinart, no question. |

Which version of the Kitchen Aid do you have? My wife has been berating me about our lack of a Stand Mixer and a Food Processor since she finished her Baking Course. Before that they were "too expensive and waste of our money" so I was thinking of popping for one on eBay. Specifically the older KFP750 model that they recently dropped from production and got the top CI ratings. Robot Coupe, pricy stuff? Sadly you are on the wrong side of the continent, but I see one for sale on Craigslist for $400, not hugely horrible. The R301 three and half quart unit. Too big, too small? If you get the urge to haunt Craigslist to see if one pops up in Denver or somewhere nearer you, this website is pretty handy: Search Tempest though I suppose most of you already know about it. I guess I better add it to my Envious of Amy List... err ... I mean wish list. ![]() |

The original Cuisinarts were made by Robot Coupe France. My original now 35 years old is still going strong. Might be worth trying to find one of those. When I got mine in 1977, I got one for my mom as well (both 14 cups) is still like new despite all the years of use. I considered selling it after my mom died, but DD said no way, she'll keep it in case the other breaks (she has my original one). I gave it to her if she promised to give it back if she got a newer one. I love my newer version of the original, not the kind with the 3 bowls. I'd get another Cuisinart if my current one ever breaks. |

I had one of the first Cuisinarts to hit the market and it ran like a top. I gave it to my daughter when I got a newer model for Christmas one year and she lost it when her house burned down. I'd give my eye teeth to have it back. The newer model works fine, is bigger, but it's a pain in the butt to clean. If I were going to replace my current, I'd still get another Cuisinart. fitzie |

Buy the Robot Coupe. You cannot afford not to, and it is probably less costly than the short term romances you will have with consumer appliances in the next decade. Cost of Robo Coupe, R2N 956.00 75.00 Sales Tax 1031.00 ( 600.00) Recovery Asset Value after After 120 months use 431.00 Ten Year Cost of Use, Machine Only 360.00 Forfeit Interest TVM adjustment 791.00 Net cost over 10 years. [7.60 per month, 25 cents per day] |
