Post subject:	Kitchen Timers
Do any of you have a favorite kitchen timer? I find myself wishing I had one more and more often. My wall oven and micro have them; my range does not. My micro is in the pantry, so I can't always hear it from other rooms in the house, so I hesitate to use the timer on that if I am baking or roasting something in the oven. Any ideas?

If you like the idea of having multiple timers along with a clock, I bought this one earlier this year, and am very pleased with it. Amy

I have several including a dual timer. However 90% of the time I use this Polder clock, timer & stopwatch . I dropped mine and it lost its cover so I ordered a new one. DH took the old one and uses it all the time loves it as well.

Our most frequently used kitchen timer is the one on our Polder Probe Thermometer timer. It lives on the side of the fridge, is easy to set and pretty loud, and is a multi-tasker for those times you need a probe thermometer. Our Polder Clock, Timer, and Stopwatch has been a reliable kitchen companion for quite a few years. With a rope, magnet, and little stand its is very versatile for grilling and those times you have to leave the kitchen with a timer.

I really like this Pampered Chef timer. The reason I like this one so much is that when it goes off, it starts counting up so in case you don't hear it (like if you are in the basement folding laundry), when you finally make it upstairs you can see how much time has elapsed. I suppose if I wore a timer like the one Alina has it wouldn't be a problem, but if I wore it I would lose it. Although I am sure it's made by Polder, Taylor or a similar manufacturer I haven't been able to find one like it anywhere else.

Most of the time I find myself using a timer app on my phone, if i walk out of the kitchen it goes with me.

We have 2 Polders & use them constantly. One was a special gift from Crystal. They are handy because they have a magnet to keep on the fridge & also a rope to hang it around your neck if you are not in the kitchen.

Actually now that I have Siri, I am sure that I will be using that most of the time, especially when doing several dishes at once, so much easier. I find that because I can put the Polder on like a necklace, I don't leave it and forget it, it stays with me. It also will start counting up if you don't turn it off when it rings.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses. I have been looking at the Polder and it seems like they are very popular, but am wondering now about the Chef's Quad. Amy, do you find that you have trouble keeping track of what's what with 4 different timers to keep track of? I doubt that I really would ever need four, but I often find myself trying to keep track of 2 or 3 different things, the grill outside, a side dish inside, rolls in the warming drawer, etc. I think these are 2 good choices...

Cookie, At first I had trouble remembering which timer was for which things (only when particularly hectic), but then I sort of "assigned" things to each of the timers and that seems to keep me straight. You can also set the timer to show all timers (one in each corner of the display), and that can be helpful to keep things straight as well, e.g., the top left timer could be designated as the top left burner. Hope that makes sense. I rarely use four either, but I have when I'm in production mode for something professional. Amy
