We went to a home builders fair today as it looks like we may be taking over my in-laws house soon which means a huge renovation or maybe a complete rebuild. My head is exploding thinking about it but it is a great opportunity for us (plenty of rooms for guests). We have no idea what we are going to do but I think I am pretty set on this: http://www.gizmag.com/siemens-full-surf ... top/22236/ Mary |

Mary, Oh, yes. I've seen this one before. Looks amazing and space age. However: high-tech computers, big spinning magnets, heat and moisture all in close proximity. Just sayin'. |

Fuzzy, it works the same way as a normal induction with more sensors. I've been using induction for the past 6 years and love it, in some ways it is better than gas (which I can't get). The technology is becoming fairly mainstream here and I haven't heard of any problems other than the learning curve of going from gas to electric. I also have that "more gizmos more to go wrong" attitude but they seem to have this technology under control. Jes, yes that should be my fridge. I want to see how the shove a casserole into that! Alina, it is exciting but doesn't seem quite real yet. My in laws bought the house 40 years ago and now it is one of the hottest places to live here. Amazing view of the lake and the alps. I do love the view of the other houses neighborhood we live in now though. Not too hot but very friendly. Mary |

That is great! Makes everything look so appetizing. I pictured myself trying to scrape decaying vegetable matter from the gel. Yikes. Mary |

I saw something about those cooktops last year I think...very cool. I agree, the best part of what you mentioned is the room for guests. When are you guys going to make it to my own little corner of paradise? Amy |
