It was about 5 years ago that we were flown to NYC to bake a wedding cake. (Actually a lot cheaper than buying a cake in Manhattan.)

Our son, Matt was managing the restaurant and the restaurant kitchen has some problems so we went to the owner's condo. The kitchen which is featured in today's Wall Street Journal. Pretty nice kitchen. LINK BELOW

I'm still trying to visualize a stove the size of a queen-size bed -- how do you reach the back burners?

Lindsay,

It was two back-to-back stoves. One side with grated gas and the other with french tops. There were different oven configuration on each side. The pot rack held about 20 heavy copper pans. That dining table has a zig-zag joint allowing for a much shorter and wider seating arrangement.

You might also notice the monster Hobart mixer.

Way cool!

I've never had anything remotely resembling a $200K stove, but I did have a wall of Zebrawood cabinets in my last apartment in NYC.

Tim,

So, how was it? Was it a $200K baking experience? Or only $50K?
