Hi, While the Thermopen is the obvious choice, I am saddled with a gift certificate to Williams-Sonoma. They carry the Maverick Precision Pro Commercial Thermometer with the same 3 second read time and similar performance. But then there are terrible reviews. Tim |

Oh gift certificates can be a problem at WS. They have some interesting consumables and a nice selection of wine glasses and linens. And there's always regifting.... |

Frank reminds me of my W-S wish list of products they do not carry.... It includes a dozen cooking tools I do not need, but desire!
