Does anyone have any experience with these?

I desperately need an additional fridge, and the only place I can put it is in the garage. Because it gets so cold here, I need one that can truly moderate the temperature correctly in sub-zero weather. The Gladiator claims to do this. There's one on craigslist down in Albuquerque I'm considering.

As Darcie can attest, I was "gifted" an old fridge I put smack dab in the middle of our great room to get through the crunch of the last few weeks, but it won't work in our garage in the winter, so I want to "gift" it to someone else, and get something that will.

If your gifted refrigerator is a recent model and works well, call the manufacturer and see if they have a GARAGE Conversion kit. The kit is an element that you install that keeps the thermostat warm enough to run the refrigerator in a cold garage. The kit should cost about $40 or less.

It's not, but I didn't know that. Thanks Todd!

Any manufacturers you know that do this?

Hmmmm ....

I wouldn't put him in the garage either. He'd make a mess. Better than the living room, though, I suppose. ;)

I think I could find a room for that...

I'm curious about that gladiator. Does it actually have a heater? I know my garage is well be zero right now (it was about -30 C here this morning), and if you wanted an actual fridge temperature, it would actually require a heater.

It looks like GE, Frigidaire and Kenmore make conversion kits for refrigerators.

Great freezing frost giants! I'm really glad I'm not visiting Ottawa until May.

It's only -19 in Toronto but we are expecting -30 tonight. :o
I'm guessing Wino and Carey are frozen in ice.
