From the demo video, it has uneven heat (the pizza is turned several times), which is disappointing, though perhaps inevitable in such a small space. It is intriguing. Yah, I'd love to see a review. |

Jim, It doesn't look like it would work any better than just putting a baking stone on the grill, to me. |

I don't understand the purpose. The best pizzas I've ever made have been dough directly on the grill grate. Why would you put a box around it? |

I love grilled pizza too, but the amongst enthusiasts the grail is something that will cook a pizza in two minutes at temps in excess of 800ยบ like a good wood or coal fired oven will. I expect that this oven would work a bit better than a stone on the grill because the top stone will supply the radiant heat from above that some other pizza conversions that we discussed last year do no have. |

I'm giving it about 75% chance that I'll convert my pizza kettle to have a ceiling to provide the top heat required. Yah, what Jim said, grilling doesn't provide the top heat and super fast heat for a particular style of pizza (my favourite style) |

Jim, If you have two pizza stones and four split fire brick, you can make your own. I tried that combo a number of years ago and it was not successful. The upper stone doesn't develop enough heat. With the heat source underneath the bottom stone it just doesn't get hot enough. I think Serious Eats had a good test on one of the charcoal grill devices with a low dome top. tim |

Fuzzy, I was hoping that you would tell us about the steel that you fashioned. Many of us would like to know what kind of steel, dimensions, weight, how did you finish the surface and edges, how did you season and more. tim |
