Due to my adoption of Marcella Hazan's Italian cooking books (see review elsewhere) I was inspired to purchase what I assumed I don't need, given all of my other toys (blenders, sticks, Vitamix, etc.) But, it was inexpensive and I intend to follow her recipes diligently initially. We'll see...

Wino,
You know, a food mill is one of the tiny handful of cooking equipment I don't have. And ... I still don't miss it. There's just so few things I need one for.
So, lemme know if it changes your life.

I use mine for a few things that it does very well that other things do less well, mashed potatoes and applesauce. The efficiency of peel and seed removal/retention is great. The texture of the spuds is perfect. I suppose it would make nice cauliflower rice if I ever wanted to make cauliflower rice for some reason.
