Server Maintenance October 11-13

Folks,

I'm going to be doing some significant server maintenance over the extended October 11th-13th weekend. During this time, the Board will be up and down several times, sometimes for a few hours at a time.

This maintenance will include:

Upgrading FreeBSD, PHP and Apache
Upgrading PHPBB
Fixing some leftover dreck from earlier installs.
Installing some antispammer mods
Maybe installing a phone-friendly interface, if time permits.

Reminding everyone of this. If you send me email this weekend that the board is down, be prepared for a sarcastic response. :roll:

Not done upgrading yet, the server will go down more times tonight.

Well, I successfully upgraded the virtual machine, OS, PHPBB, and database. However, that ended up taking the whole day due to some unexpected issues, so I'm not getting around to installing the antispam and mobile device features anytime soon. Each of those requires 2-3 hours of work.

Just as well. Given how frustrated I was by Sunday, I think my response would have been less sarcastic and more irritated.
