As all you have probably noticed, we are getting more spammers. Between Josh, Pete and myself, I think we are doing a decent job of banning them quickly as it becomes apparent they aren't legitimate users. A few, e.g., Steveson, make posts that sound legitimate (although with horrible grammar) who then eventually show their true colors. Please feel free to PM Josh, Pete or myself in the future when you feel we've got a spammer here. Amy |

Is it easier for you if we just use the 'report' button? This is the downside of becoming a more popular and established board. Congratulations, Fuzzy! They're finding you. This means you've made it to the big time. By the way, you ARE doing a terrific job of keeping them out. |

Good question. I'm not sure what the 'report' button does. It may only notify Josh (as administrator of the board). Yet, it's frequently Pete or I who end up deleting the posts and/or banning the user just because of Josh's schedule. Josh, can you clarify what the 'report' button does? Amy |

On most boards, (including one that I mod), the report button sends a message to all of the mods. It shows the post, and the person's comments as to why they reported it. That way, the next mod who happens to be available online can take care of the issue. No one has to try to figure out who to notify. The report button (the square with the exclamation point in the lower right corner) takes care of all that. I reported Stevenson. Did you not get a notification? If not, maybe Josh has to fix a setting somewhere. |

I did not get a notification on your report. So, yes, perhaps Josh needs to tweek a setting to ensure all the mods are notified. Amy |

I don't get notified either. If there is a setting to turn notifications on, I don't know where it is. Pete? I should also probably add another antispammer question to the initial registration. I can't think of a good question though. |

If you're a mod you can see that I reported Fuzzy's post above. There's an icon that is visible to a moderator in the thread list and in the specific post. Since Amy and I wander through the threads on a more or less regular basis that's probably enough. |

Aww, I'll miss Steveson. His posts were awesome. |

Ooh, we should start a thread where we can archive our funniest spammer posts! |
