Will we ever be able to upload photos directly from our hard drives? I am on another BB (not food related) where we used to have to use photobucket etc but about a 1 year ago they made it possible to upload from our local drives. Much more convenient.

It can be done now as an attachment. The limit appears to be 400k. Keep scrolling down in the "full editor" pane until the upload attachment window appears. "Browse" takes you to your hard drive for upload.
Edit: In "User Control Panel" Uploaded files can be managed, but I cannot find any information on limits by number or total size of uploaded files.

Why do some picture expand when you click on them and others don't? Jims last picture (bean soup) expanded, but the latest (gear box) does not expand nearly as much...whats up with that?

In the bulletin board pane they are thumbnails with a size that is constant no matter what the actual image size is. Clicking on them displays them at the actual image size.
