All,
Please mark your calendars. The meetup will be on September 11-12.
Darcie and I are currently working on activities and schedules. To help us along, if there is some particular foodie thing you want to do in San Francisco / Wine country, please suggest it.

Any updates?
We're making plans to be in the area, but nothing that can't be canceled without penalty.
Oh, and... - Kathy's not crazy about sourdough, but I like it. Any bakeries with a tour? - A good seafood find (e.g., not on Fisherman's Wharf). - We had a farewell dim sum lunch in Boston - I suppose that could be replicated in SF, you think? - I'm beginning to appreciate good CA Merlot/Cabernet (e.g., $20-35 retail on the East coast). I also like really good wine but I'm afraid to venture above $50. Some enrichment/tastings to tune my palate might be fun.

I don't think I am going to make it, but you might see if the good folks at Paradise Ridge Winery in Santa Rosa would arrange a tour and a tasting...it is one of the oldesst wineries in Sonoma and has a great sculpture garden as part of the winery. Their wines are pretty special too ilene

Pete, Darcie,
So, some decision time: I haven't had time to work on putting together the meetup, and I don't think Darcie has either. And now I've been invited to speak at a conference from Sept 8-10, so I'd need to leave that early to get back for our event.
Is the September meetup really going to be more than just me, Kris, Kathy, Pete and Darcie? I've heard a lot of noes so far, but only those yeses.

I'm a no, but it sounds like fun, I haven't been to CA since I was a kid. I put on an RV show in Sept. I am also missing another meet-up in Atlanta the following weekend. Work gets in the way of fun!! Laurie

I'm a maybe - only because I have some health issues that I need to resolve. (Calling "Dr. House....) My favorite Aunt to whom I was always very close turned 100 this year, and she is pretty sharp. My cousin, with whom she lives, said that her cognitive skills are beginning to fail and I should get there soon while she will still recognize me. She lives in Washington, so I was going to try to get to the meetup and then up there or the other way around.
Also, Alina lives up that way; she would probably come, but I don't think she's on this board. If Nacy is going we could probaly fly out together.
As soon as I know fershure, I'll say. Another Dr. appointment next week.....
Is Beringer in Sonoma? That's one worth seeing.

I would absolutely love to come to SF and see you guys. I'll have to wait and see what the schedule looks like. Josh, you should invite Patti/Keith and Kara as well!

Amy,
I haven't been able to reach Kara in 2 years. I have no idea where she is now.

There is a "remote" possibility that I might show up, my travel calender is steadily growing...who knows SF might just slip in there, right now over the next 60 days or so I have to travel to:
Washington, DC Battle Mountain, Nevada Corpus Christi, TX. Oilton, TX. El Paso, TX. Cumberland, ME. Birmingham, AL. Citronelle, AL. Wichita, KS. King Mountain, TX. Asheville, NC Hobbs, NM.
Who knows?
