When I was a child, my mother was very anti candy; I was allowed candy at Halloween, Christmas, and Easter and then it was rationed. So every year I buy a bag of candy corn at Halloween (the black and orange ones) and every Easter I buy a bag of malted milk Easter eggs-- I eat the bags in two sittings. Talk about a sugar high.

him: some kind of meat
me: how about chicken?
him: no, how about a steak. beef is meat. chicken is chicken.
Oh, OK then. We had "meat" and not chicken.

Fried chicken. I hadn't had any out in NY so I got a big box and noshed away for several days. Now the smell doesn't even bring a twinge of interest.
