Supposed to feel like 110 with the heat index today. Tonight we're having shrimp cocktail for dinner. Been relying on various salads, cold chicken and fruit.

We've been in the upper 90's with 120's heat index. When did they start with the heat index anyway? It's TMI. It's been so hot I'm not even hungry. Today, however, will be in the upper 80's and beautiful.
In this weather, I really like cool salads and, for some reason, spicy food.

I translated them to dark ages units for you lot Its about 90 right now, headed towards about 98. Humidex (as we call it) is about 113, headed somewhat higher, likely 120 or so. Damn warm for here.

100 here. Dinner last night was Fritos and a 7 and 7. Geekboy's been working the afternoon/evening shift for the last couple of days, so the big meal has been breakfast. Yesterday it was Darciecakes and fruit salad. Today was home fries, egg, and bacon. The heat is supposed to break up a bit with some rain tomorrow, but it won't be getting back down to livable temps until Monday.
One thing I notice is that all the climate-change deniers who were so noisy during the blizzards this winter are strangely silent now.

I shared the same on my FB page! Great minds think alike.
98 here and of all nights, I ended up walking home from work. Dr appt 10 blocks from office, spontaneously met friends for a drink, another 10 blocks (closer to apt), then 8 blocks home. My oh my, it is H.O.T!!!

Nancy,
I have no idea how you managed that. While it's only been four short years, I remember in incredible detail how friggin' hot it can feel in NYC during these kind of heat waves. Standing in the shade of a building about 20 feet from the corner waiting for the light to turn...darting into a store or fast food restaurant just to cool off. You rock woman.

Amy I walked much slower than my normal speedy gonzalez pace...no darting in this heat . It's an unusually dry heat for NYC so I think I felt compelled to experience it - I really still can't get over how hot it is. But walking seemed a better option then decending into the hell of a subway platform. The outside temp from my roof @ 9:30 pm is 94. Hot time, summer in the city... Nance Ah, summer....
