I could get used to "Lin-Spired" if it was short for Lindsay..

And may I offer my number 1 pet peeve? President Obama should ALWAYS be referred to as "President Obama" or "The President" and addressed as "Mr. President." Every President is entitled to that honor. The newsboys seem to think they can call him whatever they want. It's bad manners and bad form. They should know better. Agreed!!! That and previous presidents are called by thier title prior to becoming POTUS! In other words, "Governor" Bush, "Ambassador" Bush, "Governor" Clinton, Carter, etc. There is only one President and Vice President.

Java, thanks for the info. I hate it when people call President Obama by his surname only. Heard it on the news last night and again this morning. fitzie

Hey, quite a few people referred to Gov. Bush by just his middle initial during his presidency.

I can think of very, very, few who could not be addressed as "bonehead" (albeit less than respectful) with complete accuracy.
(And that is my "nice" word)

For the longest time, I thought that our President's name was George W. Fault.
Addressing a President while he is in office and after he retires is well established by protocol. Speaking about him is a different matter entirely. There are no rules that I know of except perhaps common sense and rating points.

I tried to find a youtube clip but no luck. One of my favourite moments from West Wing (one of my favourite shows) is when President Bartlett is hiring a new secretary. He hires Lily Tomlin's character (whose name escapes me) even though she was saying not so nice things about him...because the manner in which she spoke shows respect for his title.
p.s. and did everyone see the new Ben and Jerry's Lin inspired flavour?
