I participated in this last fall, and I've been asked to do so again. It's a tour of the galleries of Telluride with food and wine pairings in each. It will be mid-July. Thoughts on the following hors d'oeuvres?

Tuna Tartare with Avocado on Garlic Potato Chips with Yuzu Aïoli and Crispy Shallots

BLT Bites with House-Cured Bacon, Heirloom Tomatoes, Arugula and Herb Crème Fraîche

Wild Mushroom and Caramelized Polenta with Goat Cheese

Caramel Chocolate Soup with Cappuccino Foam

My only feedback is: Yum.

Colorado cooking is so different from Florida cooking I don't really have any feedback on how the the items would hold up over time, but the all sound good.

#2 & #3 sound wonderful to me.

Tartare is probably delicious but doesn't appeal to me at all.

Neither does foam.

Amy,

Will the foam hold up over the hours of the art walk?

Josh,

Yes, it will. I created the recipe for a fundraiser, and the soup is warm, while the foam is cold. I hold the foam in an iSi whip.

I am somewhat (not) surprised how weirdly organized this event is...

Venues and artists (including chefs) are supposed to connect with each other to place themselves. The email went out last night with all of the (non) particulars.

Well, I got a call from an architect who is part of the house tour on Sunday. He reviewed all of the chef profiles, and decided he wanted me! The house being shown is one I've always admired from the exterior. It's a Victorian which he completely renovated from top to bottom. It's location is fabulous, and (here's the kicker) it's never been open to the public, so will likely get many visitors.

It's owned by a former chairman of the DNC, who is one big-ass DC attorney.

I'm going to lose money on this thing, but I don't care. The exposure will be better than anything I could ask for.

Anyone want to fly to Telluride to help me?!

Amy,

Want to, yes. Afford the time & money to, no.

What is the date...I will be in Telluride Oct 1-3 for Gov's Tourism Conference. I think it's the house that Hickenlooper used for a fundraiser....is it right on Main St?

Thanks Josh, I know what you mean.

Ilene, it's July 21st. I'm glad you'll be in Telluride this Fall! Hopefully, I'll be in town. There's a slight chance I'll be in NYC then. I'm not sure where the Hickenlooper fundraiser was held, but if it's not on Main St., it can't be far off it!
