All,

I'm back, and I miss the food already.

Here's the first of many posts on the food from our travels: http://www.fuzzychef.org/archives/Frank ... -2009.html

I said it before but elsewhere - WELCOME BACK!!

I completely agree with your assessment of German food. I stayed in Hamburg for 7 days and never had a bad meal - most of them were stupendous. I fell in love with great beer there as well as lost my head in schnapps

P.S. Wonderful photos - your lighting is excellent.

Fuzzy
Welcome back....glad you had a great trip and tasted some good food. I hope you know that it took three people to handle this board while you were gone. They did a great job protecting us from unwanted posts and providing some good giggles, but you are the "master" and its good to have you back.

I lived in the Stuttgart area for almost two years, US Army. I don't remember bad food off post, and did learn of a lot of stuff that had never shown up in my mother's kitchen.

Wino,

Hah, wait until you see later restaurant photos. I don't like to use a flash because it disturbs the other patrons and staff, which often means that the pictures are very yellow and not all that clear.

Welcome back, Fuzzy!

I have a friend whose parents were from Germany, and his Mom made some delicious food, which, unfortunately, I could never find any recipes for. As with many older people, it is all in their heads, and I never really found her exact way of making the green sauce, and many other foods I had at their home. Glad you had such a good time!

Dave
