Tomorrow is a friend of mine's birthday. I am having everybody over and we are going to cook over a camp fire with Pie Irons. www.pieiron.com is the link if you aren't sure of what I am talking about. I have the cookbook "Pie Iron Recipes" and there are a lot of good recipes and ideas inside. So far, my list of ingredients includes: Bread, butter, cheese, pepperoni, pizza sauce, mushrooms, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese, brats, cherry pie filling, marshmallows, potatoes, onions, eggs, biscuit dough, bacon, sausage and chocolate.
Anybody else have any suggestions?

Sliced ham and turkey, nutella, frozen snicker's bars (just in the name of science, you know). Sounds like a fun party.

Becky,
Chapter 8 of my cookbook has some recipes from "Budding Campfire Chefs". One of the recipes is a "Nutella Sandwich" from John in Utah. It is a mixture of Nutella only or you can add Peanut Butter between two slices of bread and then cooked in the Pie Iron. He comments, " The plain Chocolate ones remind me of crepes I ate in Paris".
I think I have eaten Nutella once or twice.

Those would be the Nutella crepes, no doubt.

I love cooking in a pie iron, of course owning an RV dealership I am the queen of pie irons. It sounds like a fun cookout. The combinations are endless.

And Nutella is a staple in my pantry, you need to keep it on hand for when ya just need a big ole spoonfull of chocolate and hazelnuts. Nothing beats it!

Todd,

Empanadas?

I'd never heard of a pie iron before. Have fun, happy birthday.
