This is a *mix* for popovers. The ingredients for the "mix" are flour, dry milk powder, salt and "natural flavor." So you have to add the eggs, butter and water - not much of a mix if you ask me.

At $4.95 for 9 ounces, it certainly raises the profit margin for the KA Flour!

What has the world come to?

"Oh, I don't know how to cook from scratch, but that mix makes it look easy!"

I got an email from them too, advertising BOGO on the popovers, I thought who would buy popover mix?? They are the easiest things to make. It amazes me the mixes people spend a pretty penny on from KA. There may be an exception to the rule, maybe one or two that are worthy, due to speed of preparation, but frankly I prefer to make it myself.

I feel the same about Ina's mixes. $10.00 for a box of flour and some spices to make 12 cupcakes is rediculous.

I always figured baking mixes are for people who can't measure. Which is actually a surprising number of Americans.

But you still have to measure the butter and water!

I think the food industry has succeeded in making consumers feel they are too stupid to cook so they need the "help" provided by the industry.
