We are reading that because of state and local budget cuts, many services for needy seniors are being curtailed, including meals on wheels, and subsidized lunch programs. Our local fire dept is still collecting food for senior programs that they host at the fire station. I dropped off a big bag the other day, next time I think I'll ask my neighbors if they want to do a pantry shuffle and I'll be the delivery person.
The fire station is on a thouroughfare, unlike the official Food Bank building which is out in the boondocks. You guys might see if there is anything like this near you where you can easily drop off things. Maybe churches too?
