This morning I was driving on the NJ Garden State Parkway and around Exit 163 there was a beautiful convertible driving too slow in the left lane. I flashed my brights and he stepped on the brake. Not nice etique, at all. Now enraged, I passed on the right. As I was passing I gave him the finger, and then looked at the driver. I gave the finger to a very unhappy (with me) Tony Bourdain!!!!!

Road rage w/TB!!! Made my day and just had to share.

All Jersey guys look like Tony Bourdain, don't they?

You could post an apology on his blog... :P

You're the winner. Next week we have to tune in to see you up against Gordon Ramsey.

Yeah, don't try that with Nigella Lawson though.

It's the wrong side of the road, you'll get into an accident. 8-)

Okay, am I the only one shocked here to hear Tony Bourdain drives slowly?!

Amy....that's exactly what I wondered. I would have imagined a crazy, aggressive driver....he doesn't seem to do anything slowly. Oh well, another image shattered.

Ok, let me set this straight. When I said TB was driving slowly I meant that he wasn't driving 79mph (read 83) like I was. Probably under 75. I drive like I walk - hate to have anyone in front of me. :)

You people must be related to the guy that was behind me the other day! lol

I was on a residential road (25 MPH) and a VERY LONG funeral procession began to exit a cemetery and travel in the opposite direction (fortunately!). Then some guy behind me started honking, wanting me to cut through, when the cars were not super close to each other. Finally, I got sick of this, and got out of the van, and went back and asked the guy where he was from, and did he realize this was a funeral, and did he realize that this could be him tomorrow, and would he want people to respect him if it were. Then finally I said "Habla usted inglés?", and he finally said something - "What did you mean by that?" I said I figured he must not speak english, since he didn't respond to what I had said. Then I went back to the van, the funeral procession FINALLY ended, and I started driving at the speed limit (something NEVER done on that road!), just to pi*# him off, until he turned.

Then again, I was on the clock, so I wasn't in a hurry! lol

Ahem, well the students are back. The significance is that a town of 30,000 gets invaded by 40,000 students at two colleges - one an Ivy League University (and one of our members' alma mater.) They are smart enough to get into college. Driving is something that's not so high on their list of accomplishments.

Yes, I have road rage. And there is nothing as delightful as seeing a car with out-of-state plates, and one of our finest with flickering red and blue strobe lights in back of them. Others do not find it to be beneath them to honk and cheer.....

I would never do a thing like that.
